one thing you would change about your job?

Yeah, we get free biscuits, but people call me a pie when I eat them at my desk :(

And no it's not productive at all Lillefix. The stupid thing is, they're really relaxed about working hours more generally where I work. Need to come in late and leave late? Sure! Got a dentist's appointment at 5pm and need to leave early? Sure, just make sure you don't fall behind! It's just that, when you're in the office, there's this expectation that you should be doing work the whole time.

Yeah. Who ate all the pies? Mise did, that's why we don't get free pies anymore.

EDIT: They don't really say that. But I do have a reputation for eating more than my fair share of free food...

At least in my job people can see when you have been productive... so as long as you are you get cut some slack.

EDIT: And I got to amuse myself today writing a function called PICKUP_StartSucking ;)

I have to admit I have little to change in my current work environment.
In general I'd like more accountability and more standardised processes.

Salary is not a big issue: I get good enough money and small increase of salaries will not make a huge differences (I pay taxes in Norway).
Only a 50% increase would make a significant impact, and that's not going to happen anytime soon.

For my personal situation I miss my previous involvement with Asia: I was used to be in Asia every month (or even living there for some time).
Now my work is "limited" to EMEA but I'm building for myself a more global role... so I hope that in relatively short time I'll have it under control.
The good point of my current role is that I can enjoy the perks of working in the main HQ and Norwegian lifestyle (do lot of skiing).

edit: more seriously, I'd like to dress however I want, I'd have "nap rooms" where you could go for some quiet time, to read or to nap or to contemplate stuff in silence, and I would disconnect my telephone and force all communication to be put into writing (email).
This is something I already have in my work place. :)

We do not have a dress code at all here and sometime I wish we had, at least a day a week.
I'm lobbying with HR to institute a formal Thursday (as opposed to the the casual everyday).
I say Thursday and not Friday, because we have our so called "Friday beer": free beer, wine, and snacks.

We also have a nap room that anybody can use for a small relax anytime you want.
I never use it, I would rather go to the massage chair or just lay 10 minutes on the hammocks (in another room) or on the couch (small couch in every office room).

Other amenities: gym, children room (where children can play and the parent can watch them while working sound protected by a large glass wall), ping-pong table, freshly cooked food daily, Wednesday massage, and other random stuff.

I like my job pretty much. The only thing I'd add is more naked women (we currently have none). Other than that, it's great.

Where can I send you my resume?
