One tip for each CIV

Hey guys,

Just thought I'd start a fun thread. In only one sentence, provide a gameplay tip for each CIV. At the end of the thread, we'll compile them into one list, as a potential guide for newbies AND vets alike. Here's one:

GERMANY: Go honor, grab some barbarian troops, and take out your neighbors to guarantee a good amount of breathing room and large army in early game.
 
Isabella/Spain - If you find a faith mountain for your second city (hard buy it with the 500 :c5gold: gift), take One With Nature as your pantheon as the +4 :c5faith: is doubled. Mt. Sinai will produce 24 :c5faith:!!!

If your neighbors have a problem with your expansion plans (the rest of your continent), take Holy Warriors as one of your religious beliefs (you'll found a religion likely within 8 turns of working Sinai) and faith-buy your army. You'll keep up the wonder/building production in your capital and produce an army faster than any other civ would be able to hard-building units. Composite bowman are only 120 :c5faith:, which means you're producing them once every 5 turns. Unless you're on Deity, this type of rush is unbeatable.

Worried about a warmonger penalty with a neighboring civ? Kill them next.
 
I guess I'll do Assyria: Tech straight to mathematics, pump out some siege towers, take cities early and often, never build the National college due to the UA :yup:
 
India - Reroll. :p

Okay no, seriously:

Mongola - Wait until Chivalry then kill everyone with Khans and Keshiks.
 
Maya : Get Theology as fast as you can without hampering any other aspects of your empire. The earlier you get Theology the more Great People you will get (just watch out as the cost increases and they aren't free).

Quick version:

Maya : Get Theology as fast as strategically possible for more bonus great people!

Shoshone : Pathfinders, Pathfinders, Pathfinders!
 
Poland: Do anything you want and win.
Just kidding. Beeline radio with Oxford and get a level 2 ideological tenant the turn you get an ideology. Then, propose your ideology as the world ideology because you have radio to do it, and watch how having no tourism is completely irrelevant in your plans to dominate everyone in whatever manner you choose. Also, get more benefits out of your city states that you've just bought because reaching the modern era increases bonuses.
 
Sweden - Go honor, give the first pointless general to CS to cultural civ (or whatever CS-boost you may want) Fill honor, ally all CS, kill all AI!
 
India - Reroll. :p

Let me take India:)

Go wide, don't let the unhappines from cities discourage you because pop will pretty much allways take up more of your unhappines and unhappines is much more of a problem for a wide empire then for a tall one
 
Russia - Go for culture early game. Get the +15% border growth. Expand quickly. Then Rage quit when you realize you have no iron.
 
CHINA - Build/buy many archers, avoid being attacked long enough to upgrade to Cho-ko-nus, then go city hunting - life is good when your army effectively doubles in size.
 
Germany: Prevent "Embargo City States" edict going through the World Congress at any cost.
 
Egypt:Try and get a tech lead, then focus on techs that grant wonders. Then spam.
 
I was gonna do Sweden, but...

Arabia: Get your hands on as many luxuries as you can, either through your own cities or capturing AI cities with your Camel Archers. Build Bazaars in all your cities, sell or trade your extra luxuries, and enjoy the cash!
 
Byzantium Focus on faith early. With the extra beliefs I went with tithe and church property. Beeline to Borobudur to get more faith and the free missionaries. Spread religion like crazy and you'll be rolling in money. Add in pagodas, mosques or cathedrals and you are all set with happiness and more faith. Reformation belief of Jesuit Education and you can use all that extra faith to buy science buildings later in the game.
