Me and my old roomate were trying out RoM online to see how it worked and we were playing it fine with no problems, saved and quit, then a couple nights later we loaded up and tried to continue....but every single turn the game went Out of Sync, any ideas what is causing this unusual error? We decided to see if the OoS even affected anything so we contiued for a while, but we could still properly interact with each other so I don't get why we were getting an OoS in the first place. Any help would be appreciated.

First off, OOS errors are when computer A and computer B, for some reason, get different map seeds, which is usually impossible, because MP defaults to locked modified assets.

Try having one player start the game from the MP save, and have the other player try to connect to the other player, without a save, so the first player's save gets sent to the other player. That should correct the OOS, at least temporarily.

The Next version of RevDCM, the mod which RoM uses as a base, should have some major overhauls in the area of MP, so in the future, this may not be an issue.

Well we were doing it where I loaded up my save file and he connected through gamespy to my save, but it was going OoS on every turn. Are there any other possible causes and how can I rectify them?

We have a lot less problems with OOS when we play with the bombard attack support OFF, however we found that didn't turn it off for the AI, which gave them an unfair advantage. If someone knows how to change that so that AI can't use it too, that would be nice. If you are having OOS problems when at war, look into that.

We encountered an error OOS many times. It took time, and we found that in our case the reason was to change the settings, configuration files fashion. The fact that the configuration mode (they are in the folder of the mod) should be absolutely identical for all players in a network game, otherwise everything gets error OOS. Enjoy the game!
