OOS troubleshooting

Unfortunately OOS seems to be just as big of a problem for me with patch k as it was with the previous patch. In the most recent game (huge Erebus map, 2 humans, 14 AI) we began getting OOS every 1-3 turns at around turn 130.

Actually, I might've judged the patch a bit too hastily. We did suffer from very annoying OOS problems, yes, but so far it's only hit us once and it didn't even happen again on the same save on a different day, while in the previous patch a game that began getting OOS version would keep suffering from them.

So, for now it looks like I was just unlucky at first and things have indeed improved

Is there a guide anywhere on how to find the cause of an OOS?

started a game today(minus the luchuirp, kuriotates and balseraphs) current patch, turn 200ish,normal speed, no oos yet. First game in a while we have been able to get past turn 150. Will let know if we get another oos

2 man game tonight, 12 AI, Balseraphs included. First OOS at 292, then again at 303. Trying to see if it's just isolated and hopefully the game is salvageable. We started clearing the cache after every OOS and we got the game to go to turn 452.

how do you clear the cache? I've heard holding down shift while you launch the game, but is that applicable for the steam version which uses a different .exe?

Man i would pay money right now if Firaxis could patch in a more robust pitboss app. One that actually used server/client negotiation. Have the game run on the server and only the server. Everyone else is just manipulating that one game through a client connection. This would eliminate any kind of synch issues right?

I suppose PBEM is the best option right now for long-term stability. I've never actually tried it since playing a game like this over email just seems to be such a drag.

Any new info on fixing the OOS error? We are currently getting OOS errors quite often and in quite a few variety of game setups. Some to the extent that it becomes every two turns. We are using Patch m and have tried clearing the cache without any results.
