Oracle founds religion in teammate's city

2) build oracle
3) use oracle to found religion
4) religion has chance to be founded in teammate's city

oh yeah, this is with 1.52 and I used the same civ for both teams (but different leaders)

Oracle grants a free tech, perhaps your mate chose a religion tech and was the first as well (probably conf or tao)?

No, I built the Oracle and I selected Philosophy. Taoism ended up founded in teammate's city.

I'm pretty sure it's design - my understanding of the team structure is that just about everything gets shared between the team mates. You are basically one player with two heads.

From what I've seen, it's pretty random.

I have seen this too. Even when I'm the one selecting the free tech, the religion still gets built in my teammate's city.
