For one of my high school graduation requirements I need to research a career I am interested in pursuing. I choose to research computer programming at the Desktop Application Programmer level. More specifically, I decided to look into game design. One of the questions I need to answer for an assignment is I need to find an organization that could help me "get my foot in the door" of this industry. All I really need is a name and a website URL, I don't need very much information for this. Does anyone know of any such organization? Thank you again

This is a vague answer, but many college campuses have student-run game design clubs that make programs together. A lot of times, those games are displayed at large-scale conventions, which typically are attended by companies.
