Actually, they're 5 and 1/4 inch floppy discs... I even still have a couple around the house somewhere (the first PC I built has a 5.25" floppy drive in it)... Heck, I'm half tempted to put a 5.25" FD drive in the next computer I build, just to see the looks on peoples' faces when they see a brand-new system that has the latest duo-core processor, dual-boot WinXP/Ubuntu Linux box with dual-DVD burners, 500 GB HD, and a 5.25" High-density (1.2 MB) FD Drive. 
@Blue Monkey: I can build a decent PC (including OS) for about $300.... And if any computer I own thinks it's smarter than me, it's getting broke down for spare parts.
(Remember, I AM a certified electronics technician with 8 years of professional experience, and almost 20 as a hobbyist, on top of which I'm close to earning my AS in Electronic Engineering Technology, a side-effect of which is that I'll be A+ certified by the time I graduate....)
