This year the solstice occurred at 7:04 am (my local time), while I was dropping my g/f off at work. We're not hippie druids or anything like that, but I find it jawdroppingly amazing to know the exact moment that our planet has passed a certain point in the vastly huge orbit around our sun.... out of nearly 600 million miles that our little planet travels each year, to know the exact 'time' that we start on the next leg of the path... well, that's just incredible.
