You shouldn't have to IIRC. I chose ModDB because of the high filesize limits and it's good dl speeds for me.

I ran into problems trying to download it with IE. IE just barfed on the site. I switched to Chrome and was able to download it. Someone told me their site doesn't work with IE (or IE thinks its a spam site or some such). I did download the small patch file using IE, by using a mirror site (via the 2nd/rightmost link) instead of the first link.

So either download with a different browser, or use one of the mirrors.

That was Gamefront, and it does that with any file and IE. The TC was talking about modDB (which I have no experience with), but you are correct that they should use a different mirror (or browser) if one gives problems (or use the SVN).
