Overpowered Rock Bands

It still leaves me speechless that there are actually people who think that the rock bands (especially the "indie" promotion) are NOT overpowered.
I mean, it only takes about between 1200 and 2000 faith points to take out ANY foreign city with two districts in ONE turn, no matter how large, even a capital?? This is ridiculous.
By the time you can choose promotions you can also build GDRs and wreck civs way worse than a couple one hit wonder indie bands. When talking about whether something is OP or not you have to consider whether you get the "OP" item at a time that puts you above the rest. If you're already on the path to win a sub 300 Victory just slotting the card to choose band promotions can be a frivolous waste of time. Just like building GDRs is more for the lols than any necessity 99% of the time.

People reach t4 governments?

A lot of my new CVs aren't even reaching a t3 government because I skip over it in favor of Cold War for Rock Bands. However, that really is telling about these things. Switching to a t3 right away just means a tourism penalty and sometimes a magical -20 different governments diplo penalty for civs. I usually don't go T3 unless I can get techs or civics that will cancel out the tourism penalty at least.

But Rock Bands are still overpowered; just not in the way people think. But the city flip promotion needs to be nerfed anyways. Just too much RNG.

You severely underestimate Rock Bands, especially their ability to wreck cities you are not at war with.

Not really. Religious units, spies and rockbands pull their abilities from a pool. Once one unit gets a promotion its likliehood of coming up again is small until most of the other promotions have been taken. This means in order to get two indie bands at once you either need to wait for the policy that allows you to pick your promos or spam a dozen bands and hope indie comes up twice. By the time you can pull this off the game is usually decided and you're cruising to victory. Is it powerful? Yup. A game changer? Nope. I'm just being a pragmatist.

That is not how it works. Indie tends to come up in batches. It is also not the only overpowered promotion.
