Civ 3 is the most underrated.

Couldn't have put it better myself.I sure wanted it to be good.I even switched from MAC to PC for it(well not the only reason but a big one).The whole darn thing is over rated.From the launch,reviews,expansions...its not Civilization
I have come to the conclusion that without Brian Reynolds,my idea of a Civilzation game is a dead deal.I keep the flame burning with the hope that Civ4 will return the series to greatness.
The biggest surprise in GTA games for me was the amount of strategy one could employ.There are numerous ways to beat missions and that is the beauty of the game.
Less and less of the game deals with stealing cars with each new version
Some stuff you can do in GTA-San Andreas
Fly planes
Run trains
shoot guns(such as: silenced pistol,AK 47,Tech 9,Uzi,RPG and my fav:sniper rifle)
Gamble at casinos
Run triathalons
Date girlfriends
Shoot hoops
Parachute and/or base jump
swim and dive underwater
Fight fires
be a paramedic
Eat-yes eat!
work out at gym
I could go on and on and on.
BTW...you can steal cars.Thats no fun though just as is.This year,you steal lists of cars(as in previous years) but now you drive em down to the docks and use a giant crane to load them onto a ship.

Warcraft 3. I played it a lot when I first got it, but it didn't cut it like Starcraft. Needless to say, I went back to Starcraft a while after.
Most FPS'es are overrated, too. But that's only my opinion, highly influenced by that I'm a complete strategy freak. I played the Doom 1 demo a lot, though.
I'm not sure about Civ3. I've barely posted in the Civ3 section, and have still yet to finish a game of Civ3, even though I've got all expansions. I haven't played a lot of Civ2 recently either, though. I begin to wonder if I'm just fed up with Civ. Hopefully I'm not.

I have to admit that Conquests is far superior to the rest of Civ3. Once I got Conquest, I could not go back to Vanilla or PTW because they both a poor compared to Conquests.Cataphract887 said:

You should try playing on the cheating death servers where you can't play without donwloading the client side anti-cheat software first, alot of the counter-strike "pros" melt away real quick.andvruss said:

Halo 1 and 2, I hate to say it but the GTA series is also a bit overrated. I am a big fan, but once you 100% the game there's really nothing left to do, and you might as well sell it. I love all those little mission you get, but as for just running around shooting people and stealing cars, yea, it's fun. For a whole two minutes.

On Topic: I would say that Halo 2 is overrated, but Halo [1] was pretty fantastic. My vote for most overrated goes to Half Life. Haven't seen Half Life 2 yet, but I find it hard to believe that it will live up to the hype.

Here are the ones I remember :
Red Alert
Half-Life 2
Basically any recent WW2 FPS (Medal of Honor, Call of Duty and their expansions)
Neverwinter Night and its first expansion (the second save the serie, though)
Command & Conquer Generals
Battle for Middle-Earth
Age of Empires
Age of Kings
And many more.
But there is really two huge horrible overrated games, that still make me shivers when I hear how supposedly "good" they are... So the winners are :
Diablo 2
Baldur's Gate 1
These two piece of crap revolutionned a genre, in a way I'm totally unable to understand. They are utterly crap and boring and many other qualificatives that would get me banned, and despite that they are considered jewels. Ugh...
Here are the ones I remember :
