Can someone tell me : would a PS2 game from England or NZ work on an Australian PS2? would I need a mod chip? Because Australian PS2 use PAL, just like England and NZ (i think) .
note: i'm not talking about a pirated version or whatever, i'm talking about an original version.

I have asked this on another forum, with little success. So I hope that there is someone here who knows the answer.

You might want to think about if Britain and Australia share the same DVD region code. I think DVDs can only be run in their own regions, based on this code.

There are boot CDs out for PSX, PS2, XBox, and GameCube that will allow you to bypass the region restriction (which is stupid IMHO). This is not adovacting piracy but to allow you to play a purchased game on your purchased system.

If the game is PAL, and the PS2 is PAL, then I would assume yes.

New Zealand is region 4 too, so I think maybe a copy from there would work, thanks.

Yeah I've seen them. But I feel that is too much ****ing around for me. The only reason I am asking this question is because my Australian version of a game is censored, NZ + UK version isnt censored and its easier for me to buy a copy from overseas than trying to get a pirated one from overseas.
And when they release the sequel, that will most likely be censored too.
