For some reason my Victoria AI insists on acting ahistorically just like my HoI2 AI.

Playing Brazil, since it is apparently a great beginners country, and have made it to 1874.

• The CSA is still around
• Texas is still around (got its independence from CSA)
• United States of Central America are still around
• Prussia became Germany, but it still only controls Prussia's original territory
• There is a North German Confederation alongside Germany
• The US is going crazy colonizing Africa (They have Ethiopia, and well as most of Sudan and Congo)
• I would think by now that Bolivia would have revolted from Peru
• There were at least two wars that could be classified as world wars during the 1850's
• Annam controls a territory in North Africa it stole from France during a 20 year war between the UK/Annam and France
• Peru controls half of southern Colombia
• Britain took half of Alaska from Russia

Or is this just normal Vicky AI behaviour that I'm not used to?

I'm not sure when Germany showed up, but probably around the 1840's. The North German Confederation was forming and I was looking at the map of Europe when I noticed that Prussia was no longer the right colour.

That whole situation is weird. Especially the Annam in North Africa. I guess alliances with Britain CAN make you go places!!!

Ah right. Normally it would show up in 1871, via 'The Three Hurrahs' when Prussia defeats France and occuppies Parais. Course, there are other ways to form as you have seen! In the game I played as Prussia I formed Germany through poular unification, with Austria forming. Became very powerfull after all the initial wars I had to fight!

Because it looks like quite an add on!

For a start, they are adding new provinces and map modes.

There will be now missions, giving more of a purpose to the game. One of the screenshots they released showed a beginning mission for Castille, where they had to finish reqounqering spain! This of course means mor efun for the player, and also the ai will act mroe historically!

It's gonna start in 1399 now,so you can play the 100 years war if you want! (Though you can of course choose to startw henever you wish in the time peroid covered)

Colonialial stystem revised!

And something i'm really exicited about - rebels with a cause! Rebels will have factions and goals!

Progress report in my first game.

After learning the basics of the economy, I decided to try out Victoria's military system by going on a rampage through South America. Started off taking Uruguay, then moved onto my biggest thread on the continent, Peru. With the help of my allies Chile and the UK, I managed to beat the living daylights out of them. At the moment, Bolivia and Uruguay are my satellites, I have alliances with the UK and Chile, and defence pacts with Colombia and Argentina.

And then a year afterwards, the US declares war on me. A few months after that, the UK does too.

That will be because you've got a high badboy rating! When in game press f12, type in 'badboy' and it will giv you your rating. It's basically there to stop countires going on a rampage like you just did! Soloution? Well if you can't defend yourself against the likes of the UK, then you might want to wait between wars and let the rating drop!

I once had a bad boy rating of 117, I was playing Italy and I conquered half of the Ottoman empire. Plus I colonized/conquered half of Africa.

Hmmm....maybe 27 isn't as high as I thought. I got a very high rating when I played as Prussia, but then I was so strong all the other nations were scared of me! Russia and france declared a few times but I just pounded them and stole land

27 is high enough for a great power to declare war on you especially if you are taking non core provinces, border a great power and have a fairly small military (compared to the great power).

Now that I have a basic understanding of the game, recommend me a good nation to practice with, besides Brazil, as I will get bored out of my mind if I play them again right now.

Well, you could try for example Mexico(conquer Texas and USCA). Or Sardinia-Piedmont(unify Italy and bash France or Austria). Or Belgium or Netherlands(only way to success is colonisation). Those are fun nations.

I think I'll pass on Mexico. They turned into the Great Power's punching bag in that game I played.

Whislt we are talking about Victoria, what are peoples thoughts on the VIP mod for Revoloutions? Should I get it? Also I hear I should install a hotfix or something befor converting games to doomsday, which one and where?
