I started with CivII. I actually bought my first non-Mac PC so that I could play it. I think I've only tried to really improve my skill at the game after Civ3 came out.

Long time. It started one day, when I was in the wiz... I had never heard of civilization, and I just found it on the shelf. We have never been apart since. :D

I started playing CivIII about 2 years ago. I found CFC about 9 months ago and became 200% fanatic since then (it sure doesn't feel like 9 months...)

Whew, got the poll working!

Well I'm a DOS based Civ 1 addict, it was probably the first strategy based game that I got addicted to, does anyone remember buying cities with diplomats? I've been addicted to Civ so long I should probably go to CAA meetings (Civilization Adicts Anonymous) :crazyeye:

Cheers! :goodjob:

Civ 2 in 5th grade, friend introduced it to me. Now I'm in 10th grade and still addicted.

Heheh!

I was so addicted to Civ, I failed a grade in junior-high because of this evil game! I hear ya! :mischief:

I actually got some friends addicted to it also,

A good number of years ago I was at the software store talking to one of the salesmen. I asked him what, in his opinion, was the best strategy game available and he told me about CivII. I've been a Civ player ever since.

Original Civ(dos) for me. Still have a couple of the disks floating around somewhere.

Can you email me that in a zip? I've so lost civ :crazyeye:

It would be cool to have just like I still have a windows 95 install disk

If not no worries, civ3 PTW rocks :spear:

i started back in Colonization, then i bought CIV2 a while after when i saw it in Best Buy thinking it was the sequel. I still play Colonization from time to time...... they should make a new one of that game.

The Amiga version of the original Civ. Your poll need an 'other' option.

Sorry, no, that would be piracy and thusly against site rules.

I wonder if anyone started with th expanded civIII's or with that rip=off Call to power? :dubious:

Good idea. I've added a Civ (Non PC) version. Also added Civ2 (Playstation) since it was out for that as well.

If you tell my your vote, I'll adjust the numbers accordingly.

Civ II mateys. Another option to possibly add is Test of Time if interested.

I played my first civ-game in 1997, CivNET, a later edition of Civilization, and I was completely addicted to that. It was included in the PC-buy with other games as Simcity and DukeNukem 3D, other games which I played often but not so much as CivNET. And I could not wait to buy Civilization II later, in 1998/9 or so I could get that, and with the extra options, well it was horrible to turn my PC off for that  .

I didn't pay any attention until Civilization III.

I know someone who skipped school to play Civ II. Suffice to say, he now conducts illegal activities.
