Patch 1.29f does not display?

The saying, "If it ain't broke,don't fix it " applies to me.

In trying to find answers to my patch problems with Win7 I experimented with my perfectly running PTW on an XP machine.

I ran 1.29f on my PTW that already had 1.29f, ( on the XP machine) so the new installation UNINSTALLED itself and the program is now 1.27f. SO I re-applied 1.29f HOWEVER even though it said it was patched the main sceen still shows 1.27f.

Any ideas why 1,29f isn't showing on the main screen even though the install showed to be successful?

1.29f is the final patch for vanilla Civ 3 not PTW.
The final patch for PTW is 1.27f.

Check your vanilla Civ 3 that should be at 1.29f.
