Patchy Graphics

First of all sorry if this is dealt with elsewhere - I'm a bit clueless about computers so much prefer it when I can just stick something in the drive/plug a device in and use it without pfaffing!!

Anyway, when I play Civ 4 I get random black patches in the landscape and the leaders' faces are 'stringy' for want of a better word. It doesn't always happen. Sometimes I start fine and then I have problems. Sometimes the problem goes away by itself.

Help please - I'd never played Civ before and was just starting to learn bits and pieces and am already finding it addictive. Tried to go back to Sim City last night but it just didn't grab me the way it did pre Civ 4!

I have a simlar problem, but mine goes a steep beyond yours it looks like! I get random black outs (some times full screan, some times just parts), some times all the buildings/peoples/etc disapear and I can only see the land, And some times it just brakes down all together and the game crashes.

I've updates video card drivers, OS, game patchs. I have civ4 and civ4:beyond the sowrd.

HA sno one got a way we can fix our problem? My specs meet the requirements for the game and I'm no computer whizz so I really am at a loss for what to do about this.

PLEASE help as its ruining my enjoyment of the game.
