PBEM THE GREAT WAR - Div Level

As it is a complicated and timetaking game (turns take long due a lot of units), I'd like to continue. But if everybody likes to restart it's also alright.

Maybe we should get a turnnumber in the name of the save. That way it's very easy to recognize it.

Oh, I have the save, but will wait what we will decide.

I would prefer going back a few turns (2?) than going back ALL the turns (re-starting a new game).

Two relevant things have occured in this game:
- 1/3 of the British Navy was sunk by the German Navy;
- The Ottomans control the Suez channel;

If we re-start it's unlikely they will occur again (specially the first one), so I'd prefer to continue.

I do like the idea of having ONE system for the file name, which would include the Turn number (AI turn number).
Maybe something like this:
T2-TGW-3British-W33-1914AD.sav ?

I'm all for the Germans keeping their early victories...If it will keep Drendor in the game...certainly a worthy opponent.

gee.. Sully I dont know what to say

Verdun and Nancy Defenses Holding...but being weakened as more than 40 German Divisions are almost in direct contact with French forces in and outside of the city.

Two German Inf Divisions KIA near Nancy.

Germans moving forces into the southern regions to draw off support for the middle of the line.

Units also beginning to move out from the Calais area to apply pressure north of the centre.

Preparations have reluctantly begun in the destruction of the threatened cities' infrastructure. Arms have been given to those civilians willing to participate in the defense of their homes.

GPS to Redman

PS...I ave no idea whether the game is right or not...just play the turn as sent to me from Eric. I did notice that techs that I had are no longer. Have no idea how or why that can be??? But....so be it.

Strange thing about the techs. The thing is: I played the save sent to me by Luthor and when I was done I saved in a completely new save file. Maybe the computer doesnt like this? Maybe things get lost (weird) if one doesnt stick to the same savefile for the wholegame?

Let's halt the game a little while longer. I have an idea to try and figure out where this went wrong.

I've changed my save files name numerous time (right, Loulong?! :D) and no harm seemed to came from that so I don't think that's the problem. But confusing the files due to different names could be it!

I propose that Drendor, Loulong and Eric send me the file they've sent to the next player. Then I'll send these files (together with mine) to someone willing to go over the files and see if the techs are there in all the saves.

But since Loulong and Eric made their moves, either the problem is already in my save (glups?!) or in Drendor's file. If it's in mine then there is not much to be done about it. If it's in Drendor's then you should play again.

Sully, please tell me the names of the techs missing.

This PBEM is requiring some demading tasks...

I've put up a request for help in a thread and got a volunteer! Great I thought! Then I remembered that our volunteer had to have TGW-Div installed... :shake:

TGW-Div is being improved by the owner so no longer available...

Eric has sent a site with the file, which our 'Sherlock Holmes' will hopefully download and then get his hands on to it.

NOW I want to get to the bottom of this!!! :cringe:

On another note...I did notice that when I started my turn and checked my techs...I was missing two. Any thoughts or comments????
Sully, how many techs were missing?
In this message you said two but in your email to me you mentioned three... extra confusion is not welcomed for this already complex issue!!!

So can you please clarify?

Well hello. If you indeed are restarting this scenario, I would like to play Austria if possible.

I'll wait playing the save.
Hopefully you can find the 'bug'.
What a strange 'bug'... :(

I've been talking to Sully and he wants to press one even though he has 2 or 3 techs MIA. So Redman, can you try to play before you leave? All the others will have plenty of time to play until you return.

Chris, thank you for availability to help, but I guess it might be complicated to get back on track. Thanks anyway.
