I tend to agree on that. Lethal bombardment is very powerful in this scenario where it is quite difficult to kill units in a conventional way

I totally agree. This is unrealistic and should be changed IMHO. I would agree more in the case of some special heavy artilleries.
Yes I have used the one I own for that evil purpose several times....
Some heavy artillery (expensive) with lethal bombardment would be more ok

Both skopje and yannina fall under the attack of austrian armies, combined casulties for austrians are 3 flamers, while italians lost 2 infantry divisions and a corps unit. Also, 2 mg.divisions and infantry were killed outside skopje for no loss, and an engineer captured.
Near lecce, 2 destroyers and a transport are sent to the bottom of the sea by austrian navy.

Counterbattery in Talinn cut roads in Finland.
German high command spotted an excellent oppurtunity for an offensive when they detected that Russians stationed near Talinn and Petrograd were walking out in the open. First we had to destroy the dug-in defenders close to Tallin.
Arty + Grossdeutschland (the korps almost got wiped out attacking a russian MG with 2 hp:s. Korps lost 14 hp out of 17
) , Hindenburg and some A-infs kill all 5 russian defenders and occupy the trenches. We advance artillery into the occupied trenches and start attacking the russians out in the open.
16 landunits, 1 korps and 8 artillery are destroyed at the cost of 2 conscripts for the germans.
Both conscripts died while attacking a cossack with 1 hp left.
We also captured Pskov wich only had 1 token defender.
DD cleared mine outside Talinn.

Korps Linkowich cleared a machinegun nest (2 units) outside Minsk.

Cruiser and battlecruiser sunk 2 unknown subs near Caen.

Kriegsmarine bombarded London and we also cut roads in France.
Zepps destroy flak in England. Flak was redlined by ships first.
3 zepps kill french inf outside Nancy.
Zepps bombed crop fields outside Paris. No more bread for your soldiers!
Zepps tried to destroy Eiffel Tower in Paris but instead killed some citizens.
