PC bugs patched in C3C Mac?

Yes, it is The Rood game, that was the slowest one I played.
I did load it directly in the C3C scenario's folder, I almost loaded it in conquest's scenario folder but caught myself. :)
thanks for the help

So here's the thing... ;)

The scenario, since it is for Conquests, needs to be installed in Conquests Game Data/Scenarios. If it were a plain ol' vanilla Civ3 scenario (of which there are relatively few), then "Civilization 3 Game Data/Scenarios" would be the place to stick it.

I mention this because your saved game won't work unless the Rood scenario is placed in the same location as you installed it, as it embeds the location of the installed scenario. The vanilla Civ3 scenario folder is at the bottom of the search hierarchy, so this causes some issues.

Ah, ok that I didn't realize. Interesting that it has to be in the Conquests Game Data/Scenarios Folder. So in catching myself I actually put it in the wrong folder, doh! My bad. I will have to put it the right folder this time.
thanks man :)

Be aware that your existing saved game will not work once you move the scenario to the proper location.

Don't feel too badly about it though. The instructions on where to place 3rd party content aren't super-clear, and I can see why the Civ3 folder would look like the proper place. Most PC mods have installers to help alleviate this, so as Mac users we'll just have to be aware. I'll see if I can address this in an upcoming patch.

Edit: In the upcoming patch, I'll be able to fix the problem with moving the scenario to a different location and having it cause your saved games to not load.

Also, the Rood scenario is slow because it uses a very large map and starts out with a large number of AI units on the board.

Brad, the scenario has speeded up quite a bit since I put it in the conquests folder. It used to take me about 2 min. per turn (no joke). Now it takes about 15 to 16 seconds even with all those AI units and a large map.

Sounds like putting it at the wrong end of the search list had a major effect on performance. I wonder if this is an indicator that you could speed up C3C games generally by putting copies of all the vanilla and PtW resources in the Conquests Game Data directories where they'll be found faster :hmm:
