Are you playing on normal speed setting? If so, then unless you are a micro freak, than your games should be faster paced.

Funny - I find it's dependent sometimes on the game. The nobles club charlemagne game I shadowed on immortal/normal and it took me about 6 1/2 hours to finish that one, because the amount of war was insane.

Peaceful games typically fly for me, war-intense games go a bit slower.

I play Epic speed, and I usually have lots of wars going on in my games...plus, my laptop's a bit slow sometimes.

Oh, and if by "micro freak", you mean that I have to build everything in my cities, then yes, I am one. Nothing goes unbuilt in my cities. Nothing!

shouldn't this be in the strategy and tips section? anyway, this is interesting, so i'll give it a try. a recent NC game was Boudica as well, but not having a flat world is definitely my preference.
