Performance Issues

I've been playing FFII for a while now, but recently I forget starting with which version but it's become harder and harder to play after 300 or so turns. It would take forever between turns.

I've had to stop playing huge or standard maps. I'm playing on a small map right now, and I'm stilling having issues with these turns taking at least a min.

Anyone else getting these problems, or have a suggestion on what I can do?

Upload a save from a game that takes over 60 seconds between turns and I'll check it out.

for some reason some other save wouldnt open up...but should these save files be around 1.1 mb?

Intel Core Duo 2.40, 2gb ram

2 gb memory

ATI Radeon x1900 GT w/ 256 mb
