Persistent Site Search app?

I have hamfistedly searched for a way of do what I want, but can't find it. So either it's not a common problem, or I'm not searching properly.

There are some items that I always search Craigslist for, and not just my home location. I want a digest or compendium of relevant posts every day. I don't want an update every time a new post is made, just once a day.

I thought I might be able to set something up through Automator in OSX, but looking at the support stuff I'm not seeing it.

Is this something that could be done by a novice in Python? Is there a better way than what I'm talking about?

Easiest way would really be to just configure an rss reader for the appropriate search terms: http://www.craigslistsearch.org/tools_to_search_craigslist.html#craigslist_rss_feeds

Then just don't look at your craigslist section in your rss reader except for once per day.

I'm trying this, but I'm still surprised my problem doesn't have a ready made solution. I can't be the only one, right?
