PH15-not. Birds of a Feather.

We can always make an academy with the next GS! Oh no, wait, that's in 6 turns and in the middle of your set... Well, with the 3rd one then!

Ok, nice calm set.....

First , in a city near you, the fury of the Celtic Hindus:
Spoiler :

Some turns later , our sci and artist city had hindis living there....

Next turn HBR and ....
Spoiler :

I told her to eat grass instead of smoking it. She is in "hands full" status since then. Scouts sent to boudi land to observe troop movement.

Blah blah wonder....
Spoiler :

Trade with the rat....
Spoiler :

Currency. Runned 1 turn on calendar to be able to trade it, forgetting that the civs that have it are making the MoM :hammer2:
Spoiler :

End set in 10 turns. Some intel:
Spoiler :

I converted all our cities to military builds, given the aproach of a small celtic issue. BtW the AI have been pouncing the barb cities near us and it is quite likely that biz captures one next turn.

I queued calendar because we already have a turn of research invested on it, but I think that other techs could be more useful.

Oh, and a good spot for our priest city
Spoiler :

:D

P.S I settled the 2 GS I had in hand *grumbles something about unwritten rules*

I'll forgive you for letting military city finish its granary :)goodjob::lol:), but cottage heaven running a scientist? :nono: :nope: :nono: :nope: :nono: :nope: :nono: :nope: :nono: :nope: :nono: :nope: :nono: :nope: :nono: :nope: :nono: :nope: Did we lose now?

And now don't blame it on the governor! :D

Edit: btw it seems Biz is worst enemy of Boudica so he may be her target.

Got it.

Will fire the scientist and build some barracks and stables :). Research to CoL -> CS or should we sidetrack to Theology for theocracy?

Before keeping Mutual as your priest city I guess you have to be sure that it has none non-priest Wonder(s), which might well be already the case... that is if you don't want to lose the game again :)

Preturn

Start by making these trades (not sure about the fairness of the last one... ;))

Set research to CoL and revolt to Judaism.

Turn 1

Revolt to OR, as it will also help us to spread Judaism to our cities.

Turn 2

Pacal captures the southern barbarian city.

Turn 4

As expected, Boudica declares war against Bismarck. Meanwhile Pacal is first to Theology and gets another religion for us :satan:

Turn 5

Start to research Civil Service, and Qin declares war on Boudica. Yeah, go ahead and kill each others, will you?

Only Pacal is missing Alphabet, so we trade it for Calendar.

Turn 6

We get another GS which is merged (I can hear nocho cracking :D).

We also do a little more gold begging from our religious friends to fund research. Really appreciate it, guys!

Turn 10

CS is learned, but I won't revolt to bureaucracy as we can trade Feudalism soon. Looks like we can skip Theology after all. I still need to put one turn of research to Feudalism to cheapen the prize.

Turn 11

Trade with Mehmed and revolt to Vassalage. Research set to Paper.

Turn 12

Boudica asks us to declare against Qin, we decline and she goes away annoyed :(. Now Taoism is also founded in a distant land.

Turn 13

Bismarck makes peace with Boudica and I'll stop here to even the turns. I didn't build anything except barracks, stables and catapults. Time to whip some elephants, eh? :p

Oooh. Lots of AI on AI action. And I agree on Rolo's proposed spot for our priest city. It is not often you get to see a backwards Pacal - let's abuse it!

Good begging, Meiz! :D

The earliest I can play is Sunday night -could I get a swap?

Sunday or even Monday would still be within 24/48 hour standard so no problem.

Maybe add a shock axe or two to the stack coz of them nasty holkans.

Mehness - I have a French exam strecthing from monday (drawing my text) to tuesday (actual examination) and I'd like to use the time to read up, I might actually learn some of what I should have spent he french lessons the last six hours on. So, LKendter, if you play Sunday night, that leaves it neatly within 48 hrs for me to play some time tuesday?

In the queue for Sunday / Monday night. Hopefully Sunday, but you never know.

I continue to hate Civ4 being 3D. I had to close IE browser windows, and Excel. Despite that my system is still a bit draggy...
What idiot and Firaxis felt you would be in 100% Civ mode and not care about accessing any other apps?

We really need more workers. We have unconnected furs, and no roads to the future front lines.

800 AD
(IT) We are number 3 on the most advanced civ list.
If we plan to go to war, the culture slider would be nice. I select drama as the next tech.

820 AD
Yet another scientist is merged into science city.

840 AD
I get $230 from Pascal for literature. I rather he didn't have upgrade cash.
(IT) I almost agreed, but I refuse the German request to stop trading with the Celts.
Mehmed is really smoking the weed if he expects us to break our paper monopoly for metal casting.

Is Heroic Epic allowed in military city? It does pollute with artists, so I suspect no.

I have Sankore building in science city. It gives scientist points, so that shouldn't be an issue. With stone we should build this one. One chop is done, and we should get a couple more.

Stopped after 9 turns, as I tech path isn't clear.

For the most part it was a round of military, military and military.

I think in the original PH15 we more or less agreed that HE could be built in military city. So I would say let's build it, but I'm rather lenient with the rules. :) It probably won't generate any GP ever anyway. I'd eventually allow West Point as well. But maybe we have purists on the team who are against it. :D

"The GG city may ONLY build units or military-related buildings, i.e., Barracks, Stables, West Point, etc. Note: other cities can build these things, too, but the GG-city can ONLY build them."

West Point generates GPP, right? So HE would fit to the same category.

Ah, great, a quote frome the Great Redeemer Himself! Now we cannot possibly not build HE and WP! :D

HE is certainly fine in Mil City. National Epic is however probably a waste of time:it can only be built in Artist City and can only boost artist specialists. Granary in mil city is also fine imo as it doesn't create specialist slots, forge in mil city is probably out as it gives an engineer slot.

Could we add an axe to the stack? The only thing that eles have to worry about is spearmen (and spearwomen ) and a shock axe will be first defender against those.

Edit: techwise I'm not sure how practical lib sling is in this game: we have to research philosophy, education and liberalism the hard way. Mil trad is also a distance away: philosophy, nationalism, music and all the gunpowder prereqs for cuirassiers. I'm wondering about tradeing for MC then research machinery to open up engineering and/or guilds. Sankore is ok if we allow ourselves monasteries in all cities coz they don't open specialist slots, temples of course are only allowed in priest city.
