Philosophical/Industrious

That's terrible. Why nerf the trait for other leaders just to make Phi/Ind more balanced?

I think hey removed it from Washington not because of balance, but because it doesn't fit him as well as Cha/Exp. It's been the topic of endless biographies, books, movies, etc., how Washington was charismatic and a great leader of men.

For what he did, Cha/Exp makes a lot more sense than Fin/Org.

Does anybody really think that the traits are attributed to leaders based on reality??

They're so arbitrary, you could ascribe most of the leaders with most of the traits.

They're all just square pegs pushed through round holes.... I am sure a good argument could be made for Lincoln being Aggressive, Financial, Spiritual, Organised... etc etc etc.

I say give it to Emperor Meiji of Japan, and add him in!

I pondered having a Spanish leader or Japanese leader with this combo. Spain's startings tech aren't good for early building, IMO, due to getting a religion first and fishing.

the techs that give izzy a headstart in the direction of pyramids, stonehenge, great wall, great lighthouse, colossus, temple of artemis, oracle and the parthenon? those techs? oh, and moai statues to actually get the stuff built in my coastal capital. where do i sign up? ;). i'd miss spiritual but i'd try it out *giggle*

People complained about Boudica's trait as "too good", and yet, we haven't heard a peep from her since the game has been released.

Civ gives options all the time, so there's no reason not give us this as well.

You're welcome to build all those wonders while everybody expands and box you in.

the phi/ind trait is nothing else but finding Stone or marble in your Capitals or second Cities' fat cross, when allready playing a Phi-Leader. I had that with Alex once on King-difficulty. There was only ONE wonder, I didn't build myself.

In the End the Capital city had more than 300 GP points/round, Parthenon allready obsolete.

I won this game with 4 Cities on a huge Map with double Points to second (Saladin) who dared to attack me with his Camels. I wiped my throneroom with his butt, having Infantry by... well VERY early.

So this IS possible allready for those whol like it.

PHI/Ind should definitely be in game and I'd appreciate to see this attached to a second Japanese Leader.

Btw: Darius my be fin/org, but still way loses against most aother Civs. And Mansa ist still the techmonster himself, way stronger than Darius, when played by the AI.

And how about finding that stone in your capital or second cities cross AND playing as IND/PHI! ;)

I still don't see a prob with that, as I don't see the AI be able to use those (any) traits really to it's advantage (especially Ind, do they even use it?). Of course, the HI may exploit it a bit, but he does that with any other combination allready, doesn't he? Well Phi/Ind is massive, but still.

I'd like to see a patch with some new leaders or even Civs, and this trait-combi should be in there. As should every other one, not allready in game.

Just my 2 cents!

Ahhh it's not the AI I am worried about, it's the player (although the AI most definitely can use the traits as they are both passive benefits to things it already does!)!

IND/PHI would break the game for a competent player imo.

Just go and mod it in if you want to try it. It's very apparent how powerful it is - you can probably play 2 levels higher than normal.

I aggree, that it is very powerful. But I think Phi/Fin or Fin/Org etc. are much more powerful. Or think about Mansa Musa. His traits-combination Fin/Spi is indeed weeker that Darius' Fin/Org, still Mansa is the Techwhore, Darius never made it that far, which is more a thing of how the AI Mansa acts. Toku should be a nemesis to his opponents. He is not. We all know why.

I agree that it would brake the game, but:

Nobody forces you to play it.

You could also use him on a difficulty level above your standard, or even higher.

Big Whoop!

Seriously I can play two levels(from noble to monarch) higher than normal with Rome or Byzantinum. Just survive until you get their UU and blast them out of the water[though with Byzantine that can be a bit tricky with bad diplo... dratted shaka and Fredrick both were pounding on me off and on up until I got my phracts]. I might even be able to do it with Persia. Or a few other 'powerhouse' civs/leaders.

Lincoln is a great shout for IND/PHI.

I agree that its a powerful combo, but I would still like to see it included, it'd be a great Civ to pick when moving up to the next level.

You could always tweak some of the lesser traits to maintain balance!

Not really. While you're building those wonders, I'm building an army to take your wonders.

Which will then die to 4 units 2 tiers above them due to GS-spammed tech lead.

like i said, it sure would be nice for playing a challenging game far above your range, but its borken (more broken than broken) in a game on equal level.
