I heard that every picture that you view on your computer, be it from a digital camera or on the internet is stored somewhere on your hardrive. This sounds ludicrous to me, and I think it's just the computer equivalent of an urban legend. As this would take up a huge amount of space, I don't see how it could be hidden. But I figured you guys, being the computer geeks that you are (In a good way, of course :) ) would know for sure - so, is that true? And if so, how would you access those pictures?

it might be stored in your cache or temporary files..although i dont know much more than that...

Everything you view on your computer is stored in cache, or in temp files. The nature of such files is that they get cleared, or at least overwritten, after a while. For instance, web browsers use a cache, and you can specify how large that is. Once it fills up, it starts overwriting the oldsest stuff in it.

But yes, it does take up space, and if temp files aren't cleared occasionally, and your hard drive is nearly full, it can cause performance problems. (But temp files and cache are usually just a relatively small part of space problems.)

If you're worried about something and want to make sure the cache and temp files are really deleted, say hello to CCleaner. Check all options before running it. You may lose some saved passwords, etc, if you're not careful.

Heh, I'm not worried about anything VRWC, I was just curious. Ok, thanks guys, I was aware of your internet history and cache already, but I know how to delete those.
