I forgot to post this when someone asked

we also have several cogs being built in preparation for an invasion of egypt in the future, the 3rd navy will be used for an escort for our forces

also, in our colonies I'm mostly just building up everything to cities, since Africa isnt worth colonising (due to denmark owning a large part of it) and Taiwan has been taken by some chinese power this will restrict our targets

oh and heres our tactical map, I've gotten our BB down to 10 so I'm making preparations

we have 15 Cogs, 11 Carracks and 71,000 Manpower, any ideas?

If we absolutely must go after Egypt, then our main goal is to capture that trade centre in Alexandria. It will cost a lot, so don't be surprised if that's all we get out of this war on the first try. The good news is that the Mameluks will probably want it back, so expect future wars against them in which we can expand our influence around that province.

If we are pursuing the total conquest of Egypt, then in future wars we would want to push down to conquering the Nile province, as it provides a bottleneck (I think that unexplored territory is permanent). Same with Gaza, though we may want to grab Judea for the sake of Christianity. One problem is that unless we conquer all of the Mameluks, the capital of Cairo is going to stick out like a sore thumb, as we can't annex it.

Darn, Cairo is their capital, so definately take Sinai and the two places northo f it. I'd say 3 armies. One for Gaza to block any attacks from the east, two to take the river provinces like Cairo and Alexandria.

EDIT: It looks like they have a part of Palestine and maybe Syria and Jordan. Perhaps we can entice their neighbours to attack them? Perhaps an alliance with the ottomans?

If we absolutely must go after Egypt

we must.... its one of the last things that will be hard but not impossible


oh, and I've been able to negotiate a military access treaty with Austria, that red province, so we can potentially begin the war already in Africa, however we need to decide if we want one large front or several landings

and I'll do some checking of their diplomatic standings, I however doubt the ottomans would want to help us defeat a Muslim nation, but its possible

Okay, if that's Austria to the left, then we can move troops into there to prepare for the invasion, like, move one army from Enland, put it htere, go back and get another and then invade.

I think, I'd like ot have two armies in that Austrian region that will attack from there, and a third army that will land as reinforcements where needed. One army should immediately work it's way to Gaza.

actually it also appears that the Mameluks are allied with tripoli, its a two province country on the other side of Austria's African holding

I will only support and give my advice to this invasion of Africa on two conditions;

1) We start focusing (all of) our resources on land and naval tech. Unless you wish to get the National Bank idea, we should stop spending so much cash on government. Maybe we could go for Production when it is cheap, due to our dependance on Productive American provinces.

2) Take the treasury slider down to 0. It will help in the long run, trust me. We need National Bank to eliminate all of that inflation so we won't be spending insane amounts of cash to do simple tasks in the 1700's. I bet that our yearly income is higher than a 12 month loss of 25.4 gold.


Also, is France unified? I don't recognise that teal color in the income notes.

1) national bank is my main focus right now... since I'd like to further cut down on our inflation.... I need to gain 4 more government levels in order to do that, our land tech is currently doing well and our naval is begining to catch up

nope, I assume the game just randomly changes colours, Burgandy and Brittany are still out of French hands

I dont quite see the fear of an egyptian campaign.... we have more than enough manpower to make the invasion successful, I've heard the egyptians rely on numbers, we have even greater numbers, they will likely run out of manpower before they defeat us, then its a simple walk to Gaza
