October 1455

The war has taken a turn for the worse, The forces of Admiral Nodikus have been defeated and within a single battle lost four of his 9 ships

meanwhile, Normandy was assaulted by the french forces, among the casualties are 11,000 English and Pugwash himself

adding salt to our wounds, Burgandy has also declared war on us and are now positioned to threaten Calais

so without any other options, the King has signed the following peace treaty with France, hoping to reduce the amount of casualties

The King stood puzzed, listening to the recomendations of his advisors since he needed some idea on how to improve their standings among nations, after three defeats in a row morale was low for some reason.

The first idea presented was by Nuclear Kid, who proposed:

Immediattly adopt "Quest for the New world" for a huge overseas empire

The King sat and scratched his head for a few moments wondering what else could be out there, he pulled out his map of the world and tried to figure out where a colony could be made

however he decided that no map would tell him what to do, therefore he funded a force to go explore the west

Nodikus was the next to step up with an idea

I say we should focus on rebuilding the navy

The King gave a big thumbs up....

after actually reading it he decided that it shall never be brought up agian

Having just Calais may mean we don't have to fear as many French attacks, and will allow us to focus on the British Isles for now. However, if Scotland remains allied with France, then we may have problems.

I concur with the Honourable PrinceScamp that Ireland must be taken. The poor people who populate it are just praying to be united. Under our rule, of course.

I too recommend a full on assult on the Irish to unite them. Whilst we are there, Scotland may very well cancel the Frecnh Alliance, leaving it for our taking. I also agree that we should head west for unknown lands.

I'll apply for "Minister of Mercantile affairs", if that would be fine.

I suggest that we head south-west and establish a New-World trading post (Tortuga, anyone?) so we may bring in extra revenue. We should stay out of European CoT due to their low revenue.

Yet we should have three naval sections:
1) Defend the Homeland from the Europeans and allow invasion of Ireland.
2) Colonize the Americas.
3) Sail around the world and find rich trading outposts in the far east in order to maximize technological advancement.

I would support an invasion of Ireland, but we should turn them into vassals instead of straight annexation. We would seem like less of a threat to the rest of Europe if we diplo-annex.

who what? ive never heard of a landmass called "america" the world is square remember!? having sombody sail west as the map suggests would be death!

August 1459

after overwhelming support from his advisor's the King decided to invade Ireland, he first had a royal marriage to the larger of the three Irish nations and then made a claim on their throne

e350 was dispatched to deal with the province of Connaught, due to only having 1000 more troops than the enemy he decided it best to only siege the city until it surrendered

also noticing that his Chief of the Armed forces was eligible for military duty he decided to send him in so that he wouldn't get out of touch with modern warfare

a naval force under Junglecutter moved Kan's forces into position for a landing on the enemy capital of Leinster, which Kan then attacked and captured upon landing

Kan was then ordered to invade Munster and to annex the one province kingdom, however as soon as it fell the armies of Leinster went back to take their capital which was now unguarded, only to be chased off by e350 who had finished the siege in the north

this was a historic time for England... they had finally achieved a victory on the field of battle and the King made sure it was celebrated thoroughly

as far as the peace treaty went, Munster and Connaught became the property of England and they also got 50 gold out of it, not bad for a minor campaign

however upon further inspection it appears that Englands old enemy, Brittany has gained a foothold in Ireland, The King opened the floor to discussion of what action to take

meanwhile the colonizing force sent west found a whole new world, Nodikus and Nuclear Kid have been entered into the history books as the first people to discover this land
