Well I've been working on a lot lately, including this scenario that I am now releasing. You play as the pirates, up against the English, Spanish, French, and Danish on a Caribbean map created by me. You'll want to watch out for a certain powerful barbarian ghost ship though;) . Due to the file size of that unit though (it singlehandedly kept it over 3 mb), I'm going to say download the unit seperately if you dont already have it and put it in the units folder for the scenario. It can be downloaded here. . I would have had to make it a seperate zip file, so I figured I'd just direct everyone to the zip file already there. Enjoy the scenario, and post your feedback.

**EDIT**
Version 1.1 uploaded. Changed it so buccaneers do not require iron and Pirates start with Ship Building and Pirate Ships to help improve gameplay. If anyone is still experiencing the black pearl file problem, I don't know what to tell you because it works just fine on my computer. Just so you don't get confused by later posts, no names of any files need to be changed in this version.

Ok, this is getting frustrating. I d/l this scenario. Then I d/l the black pearl file. I put the black pearl file in the units folder but the game keeps crashing. I put the black pearl file directly in the art folder, keeps crashing. I take the black pearl folder out of the black pearl folder and put in the units folder, same. Ok, what is going on here??? It keeps giving me the Art\Units\Black Pearl\Black Pearl.INI not found. My recommendation is just to put the file in the scenario, so what if it's 3 MEG, and repost the save. Just my $.02.

Yes, it's finally done... DL right away

I looked into what colonies were controlled by who in the area covered by the map, and the Danish controlled the Virgin Islands, but I did not see anything controlled by the Dutch. Perhaps they controlled islands that are not in the map I am using.

Yarr me hearties!

Ill be more than happy to play a pirate naval mod!

Just go check what crawled out t' bung hole (pirate lingo for hunt down some food ;p) and rip inter this pile o' booty!

Love the idea, sweet!

Ok... very VERY very annoyed by this Black Pearl problem.

Could you go that extra three inches and put it into the scenario folder for everyone who comes after? It is really quite the PITA to have to download three different files and to load the game three SEPERATE times just to play ONE scenario... rather annoyed, but still hopeful!

Ok, this is really making me mad to the extreme. I did what you said and renamed the BlackPearl.INI to Black Pearl.INI Then I found out I had to rename EVERY BlackPearl file. Then after I did that it started asking me for Black Pearl files that I didn't even have! This might be a good scenario, but perhaps we will never know if we can't get it to work.

Why are there archers everywhere?

Why do buccaneers have swordsmen look?

It is 1655, but everyone looks to be in the ancient era.

Also, no ability to build any combat units besides archers and catapults, no combat ships at start (PIRATES??? WITHOUT COMBAT SHIPS???) and Buccaneers cannot do amphibious assaults.

I am pretty sure that the combat units come later (with timber...) but that just brings me to another problem. Horses do not look like birds, and coal does not look like timber. There are graphics that can be used for these things.

Are buccaneers nationality hidden? Not sure b/c there are no civelopedia entries!

I would be more than willing to help you work this scenario into the ultimate coolness that it should be! It just needs to be worked on and fleshed out a bit, and then it will be the shizat!

Also, what the heck am I supposed to do with the treasure in Port Royal? None of my troops can grab it, and I cannot move it!

Well, even though I can't get the scenario to load...it sounds to me like those that do get it to load are just as frustrated.

I'm not sure why everyone is having so many problems. If you have the latest download, it should work just fine. As for the unit graphics question, I'm still working on getting a pirate graphic, and I've now uploaded a version 1.1 to fix some of the gameplay issues you brought up. I'm a little confused about some of the things you mention, like resource icons:confused: . There are custom resource icons in this scenario. Buccaneers can perform amphibious attacks. As for the treasure chest, that is the equivalent of the princess. It can't be moved, but it must be protected. Sorry about the lack of civilopedia entries, those will be added soon.

I wish it was working also because this sounds like a fun scenario. But as it is, I have deleted off my computer and won't put any more time into it until someone puts the black pearl file into the game. I know it sounds trivial, but I have spent probably two hours trying to get it work, renaming files, adding files, moving files around to different folders, and nothing works.
