Pitboss and Multiplayer

Just wanted to offer an idea to those who play HR mutliplayer, is the use of Pitboss. We had such a horrible time with OSS errors that it made the game almost unplayable on mutliplayer games. After we set up Pitboss however we have not had a single OSS error or crash.

Last night my three friends and I had a fantastic game of HR in my hodge-podge home LAN, rocking the house for 5 hours without a single hitch.

You're getting Out of Sync errors? Are some of you on Mac and others on PC? If so, that should be fixed in 1.19. If not, let me know the details. I was pretty sure I'd solved all such errors.
 
We were in a mixed environment of Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 7 64-bit. No Macs. Before the use of Pitboss we would get hit with OOS errors quite frequently and could never track down the issues -- the forum suggested turning off random events and some other tweaks that sometimes works.

I will say however that when played over the internet, we never had OOS errors yet on a LAN we did. You would think that latency on the net would be far greater, so perhaps there was something else going on then a synching issue.

We also updated several computers on the LAN recently with better graphics cards and that also seemed to help.

We have not tried to play without Pitboss because of the great success we have with it. Even if we did have an OOS with it, it meant only 1 person had to log in and out and we never had to restart the game but only reload.

So many variables going on in game play that it is hard to factor for them all. Just glad we discovered Pitboss.
