I killed the lone barb this turn, but the stack of 4 (one C2, 3 unpromoted) hits my capital at the turn flip, so I suspect that will be it for me as well.

I was too close to my neighbour and he acted fast and well.

I hadn't thought about it, but Bernout's thread made me realize we'll need a christmas break for TAB too. My own break will be 23-27, but Munro's break is quite longer.

Munro, can you find a sub (since Elkad's out... )? Who else would need a bigger break?

Wait.... Is that map actually huge size I am very close to 3 different civs. I think I might be stuck with only 1 city because so much of the land is crappy.

It says large in the settings . If there isn't room you got to make some...

normally there's 9 civs on large maps, right?
we started with 12

I made a comment earlier about how the large distance b/n players would discourage rushes, but didn't realize we had more than the standard number of players
we all know what followed

Oh, okay. I thought it was huge size. Makes more sense on large It would be verrry strange on huge to start within 2 cities from 3 people (although I have a bit more space than the Byzantins and Ethiopians, who's capitals are basically touching.
