In the resources menu were you can assign them…it appears for some reason I can’t assign the factory resources to any of the slots under the
Cities. Could this be a bug?

You need a factory in the city first. Factory resources can only be assigned to cities with factories.

It seemed weird to me at first as well, seeing all those resources in the bottom left and unable to do anything to them. It makes sense once you see it in action.

Huh. Two games done now and never realized this. Just slotted a resource in the Factory slot and shuffled along.

The factory settlement will take whatever number of one single factory good. So if you have 5 taco resource (or whatever) slot them all in the one factory city and send everything else elsewhere to make room.

They go in the same slot as your regular resources. You can only have one type per city. The icon all the way to the right will show what type you've slotted once you've put them in.
Was going to ask similar question to this tread, think this is the answer I want.

Found the economic path a bit slow, can only make 3 factories with a resource each.

So you can assign multiples of that assigned factory resource to the city once the factory has an allocated type?
-And this would make more goods faster?

I can't seem to change a city's factory resource once i've allocated it. Very annoying.
You should be able to iirc, might just be a case of you can't reallocate any resources until you gain a new one?

Yes, you can. Simply remove all factory resources. Your factory will now be empty. Then place the factory resources of your choice back into the settlement.

As the post above states, you can only do this once you acquire access to a new resource in some fashion.

Yes, you can assign as many of the same Factory ressource to a settlement (needs a factory AND a railway station). And the benefits of the Factory ressources stacks. And each ressource slotted produces one point toward the econ. victory.

You can trade for those ressources, so look for the suitable types in the AI.

If you plan to aim for economic victory, don't look down to the wonders that increase ressources slots (such as the Colosse). Not only are they good by themselves (with trade you can easily fill the slots, gaining yields), but you can produce more points during modern age.
