play PC-Saves?

Did anyone of you ever sucessfully played a game that was saved on a PC?

In the thread http://apolyton.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53686 (please copy/paste, doesn't work!?!) is a savegame that I would like to try but I failed so far.

It's a deity/huge game starting on a tundra island with some forest, hills, 2 Games, 2 Iron and 3 fish!

And he won by conquest! He managed to conquer the last city of a dying Civ with 5 Immortals (the AI had Modern Armor!) and then to spread further.

One PC guy is participating in our GOTM, so I guess Mac => PC works.
Is this again an example of Mac to PC compatibility works but not vice versa?

And by the way, has anybody an idea why my links never work?
I copy them, put the button above and paste and it never works

The only reason you can't load a save game is because of patch version difference. That game was most likely played under 1.29f...

You should be able to load all the saved games in the Civ3 HOF if you have the Mac 1.21 patch installed (all the games there were added before 1.29).

It's probably the versionincompatibility since games from your link do work.

Once I learned how to download PC games- don't use IE, save as a .sav file - I haven't had any problems.

The game you're refering to sounds like Aeson's. If so, I think he started it well before 1.29 came out... but he might have upgraded it before finishing it. Why don't you PM him?
