Playing as Iroquois, can't create any ships whatsoever

I have a coastal capital city and can't create any ships whatsoever.

I'm kicking butt in the game so no huge concern but just wondering. I have been able to create boats in the past, I've only been playing the game for 1 week though.

To build ships, a city must be built on a tile that's directly adjacent to a water tile. Your capital doesn't meet that requirement.

Really? That's kind of lame. I'll keep that in mind in the future though.

Civ5 is a great game regardless. Nice community site you guys have here.
