The 3.19 patch works great, and many thanks to the devs for continuing to support this great game. However you may not be aware just how much the Civ multiplayer experience has been degraded by the loss of being able to /ignore individual users in the Gamespy lobby.
Seriously. It's not that anything said by the many babbling idiots in there is actually new or original, especially online; and having been online regularly since the late 1980s I've no aversion to either observing or participating in flame wars. But even as online forums go the Civ IV Gamespy lobby today stands out for its sheer brainlessness. And today being able to mute the truly ******** is frankly just a basic customer expectation (or to put it another way, in the year 2009 to be wading through the same childish hissy-fits, racist and/or homophobic garbage and other assorted verbal diarrhea as we had to in 1999 or 1989 is really just no longer acceptable).
Please get the /ignore feature to start working again, and thanks again for all your hard work on the best strategy game there is.
