Please Create a Civ 7 Sub Forum

It has been "officially leaked" that Civ7 is currently in development. Please create the corresponding forum on this site, so that I may begin adding to it.

What's that you say? It hasn't been released yet so there's no point? Incorrect!

For one, I have a serious request of the developers that should in fact be taken seriously. While modding for Civ5, I studied the feasibility of creating an in-game visual UI editor. If provided with a lua hook for changing the z-index of UI components and a hook for an io.write, then I am 90% certain I can and will accomplish it.

I would preferer to announce this in the proper sub forum.

You…want to announce a civ 5 in game editor in the civ 7 forum? Not sure I follow; it seems wildly impossible to forecast what mods or utilities will work in civ 7 as of now.

There doesn’t seem to be much to post about VII except ideas and suggestions for now, so hard to see how a different forum than this would do any good.

Think a Civ7 forum will be created when we have a release date and some detail worth discussing. Nothing concrete has been released thus far.

The only thing that has been officially confirmed is that the next Civ game is in development. While it is widely assumed to be Civ 7, we don't know for certain that it will be and that it will be called "Civilization VII". Until there is some official announcement of what specifically the next Civ itineration will be, any discussion surrounding it is basically speculation, theorizing and conveyance of ideas/suggestions. As such, a dedicated forum for the next Civ game will have to wait until we have something more concrete to discuss.

Perhaps a civ 7 speculation & suggestions board rather than a full set of forums would be a smart move?

CFC has never had version-specific speculation and suggestion forums - only this one, which has always been for speculation and suggestions both for the current and next versions of civ. That's why it's called Civ - Ideas and Suggestions, not Civ VI - Ideas and Suggestions.

If you look back to the start of this forum's post history, you'll see that the oldest threads are ideas and suggestions for *Civ IV*, two years before it was released.

CFC has never had version-specific speculation and suggestion forums - only this one, which has always been for speculation and suggestions both for the current and next versions of civ. That's why it's called Civ - Ideas and Suggestions, not Civ VI - Ideas and Suggestions.

If you look back to the start of this forum's post history, you'll see that the oldest threads are ideas and suggestions for *Civ IV*, two years before it was released.

The confusion might come from that this thread is, at least currently, placed in the Civ 6 section.

But otherwise, I agree that once Civ 7 is officially announced the "Ideas and Suggestions" would presumably be moved to a Civ 7 sub forum.
