PLEASE FOR THE LAST TIME... I NEED HELP
I played this game before. Prior to erasing my mac air clean, it just works perfectly fine; rarely crashes...

I was so excited to re-install and play civ V campaign edition on a spacious hardware and when I played, it randomly crashes either when loading the game or after a few turns. I experience crashes and unexpected quits more frequently after the wipe, like less than 20 minutes i start the game, it always crashes...

It crashes even in the lowest video settings and even when it is not full screened...

Starting a huge map shouldn't be the problem here because, I played on a huge map before...

What is the Campaign Edition? I assume it's for a Mac, so you will be be better off sticking it in that forum, imo.

There could be lots of reasons why.

Can you be more specific on your computer's specs and what OS you are using?

Currently,

OS X Yosemite

MacBook Air 13 inch, mid 2013

Processor 1.3 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

*The thing is, this issue started to exist right after I erased everything off my mac. Prior to that, it just worked perfectly fine. I just downloaded Yosemite, so with or without it, it still existed...

So heres the problem:

I opened it with no issues. The main menu looks fine and the loading didn't take too long. BUT within 15-20 minutes after opening Civ V, no matter what it freezes, mouse turns to rainbow wheel and a few seconds later it quits unexpectedly.

The issue still occurs no matter the video settings

This is unusual cuz:
Before erasing mac = works fine After = starts quitting

This are my specs, but I don't think it has anything to do with it cuz like i said, It worked fine before (i was even able to make it to around 200 turns).

OS X Yosemite 10.10.3

MacBook Air mid 2013

1.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor

4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory

Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

Moderator Action: I've merged your two threads.

Before you erased the Air, were you running Yosemite?

Why did you erase the Air?

sorry for the repetitive threads...

BEfore i erased the Air:

•I was running on OS X Mavericks
•IT worked fine

After i erased:

•I was running on OS X Mavericks for a while and it didn't work.
•I downloaded the Yosemite and the same issue still existed

-I erased my air because, even without my games downloaded, it is overwhelmingly filled with unknown "things" which left me only around 6 GB of free space. When I erased, I was so surprised that, even with all my photoes and music in it, I had like 80 GB of free space.

Have you tried checking the integrity of the game files via Steam?

There's a verification option for local files in the Steam drop down menu if you right click on the Civ5 game in the Steam library.

Il be honest... i didn't buy this, I downloaded the cracked version. I downloaded from the same torrent website which worked before the erase..

I have a strong feeling that it has to do with a missing software. A software that was deleted during the clean up...

If you like playing Civ5, then I strongly recommend you buy it. There are often special offers on Steam, and for the price of a few trips to Starbucks, you can get the real deal and help to reward the developers for their efforts.
