I am running windows xp professional on my mac (with vmware fusion 2.0) and when I installed the Civilization IV program on my virtualized OS (very fun by the way! ) I got the following error message:

Initialize Renderer failed. Check DirectX Installation, Latest Graphics Drivers and Graphics Settings Parameters:

- width = 1024
- height = 768
- flags = 0xc
- hwnd = 0x10012a
- adaptrid = 0
- deviceid = 3
Error:Creation failed: Invalid 3D device type

Is there any way to fix it?!

your virtual machine lacks a graphics driver - or has a very old one - install one
