I have an original copy of Civ on a cd. It was previously installed and run on this computer (WINDOWS VISTA) but I've reset the system a couple times so I needed to reinstall the game. I'm getting this error after installation as I try to open the game:
Initialize renderer failed. Check DirectX installation, latest graphics drivers and graphics settings. Parameters:
-width = 1024
-height = 768
-flags = 0xc
-hwnd = 0x2615f8
-adaptrid = 0
-deviceid = 3
I have installed and tried to run the 1.52 patch but it doesn't work. Most of the fixes I see to this are from 2005. Now it's 2012, I absolutely love this game and I really want to get it running. Help??
