--Pokemon Game Thread--

Which is the most ******** thing ever. Ya sure you can have my pokemon....which will evolve and be stronger and get the trading experience bonus.....

by trading, same with haunter. Onix evolves into steelix if you trade whilst he is holding a particular item (something steely)

you can use gameshark codes to get graveler if you want to. It works if you have the visualboy advance emulator.

Lol playing these games brings back childhood memories hehe.
I remember waiting for gen 1 really well. I wanted Blue but it was sold out and i got red (didn't like that since i was rather anti-ferrari/schumacher at the time) but ok. I als enjoyed silver. However then i got a bit to old so i quit, no point buying new gameboygeneration for just couple of games right... So i found out about the emulator thing. Lots of fun. Played emerald on VBA a while back. Defeated the leauge and played some more. Not quite sure about my team anymore, i think i had swampert, swellow, camerupt (lol) and a couple more. The Ds emulators are rather bad but still i played platinum till badge 7 i think (i had torterra, floatzl, staraptor, houndoom, luxray and one i can't recall). So now i started on Heartgold. Fond memories... So i get to the gaming corner... And it turns out i can't BUY my TMs anymore. I actually have to play the silly voltorb game?? Any easy way to quickly get enough for Thunderbolt, Flamethrower and stuff?
Am not really looking forward to playing 10 hours of voltorb minehunter?!
My team so far is Bayleef, Flaaffy and Spearow. I intent to get Yanmega, Slowbro, Arcanine and Umbreon and ditch Spearow. Should be fun.
Anyone knows about the voltorb thing?? It's lame...

Lads does anyone have Heart Gold or Soul Silver? I'm looking to trade, but I need to find I wi-fi my DS will recognise so it may take a week or two.

They banned the game corner in Europe because it was encouraging gambling or something.

That's just lame. I don't care about these games at all but now i am forced to play this voltorb flip game because some conservative politicians like to meddle in this game. Really haven't we had enough conservatism of late... Seriously i never ever played those games (more then 5 min anyway) not the reason you play the game. I was always kinda angry at the pricedifference between say Fire Blast (warehouse) and Flamethrower. You should just be able to buy what you want but since buying coins and playing with them (lame) seems to entice gambling they managed to kick it out... BTW is it there in the US version?? It clearly wasn't there in mine but i think i have a US version actually.
I did try the voltorb game and amassed 39 coins in 5 minutes. At this rate it will take me 250 x 5 = 1250 minuten = over 20 hours to get Thunderbolt... That's ridicilous.
I don't want to BREED (lame), don't want to play minigames (lame), just want to get good movesets easily. And obviously i can't trade with emulator (no way to get say Alakazam either)
Oh well i suppose being forced to use lame moves makes the game more challenging (or more grinding) but HM Surf seems overpowered now. Also Rain Dance Thunder set becomes interesting.

Voltorb flip is some pretty basic math. In twenty minutes of playing I got five thousand coins, I wasnt going for the TM's though, I just wanted the ABRA EKANS AND DRATINI. You gain more coins as you advance the levels, just always go for high probabilaty first, and if you think a square is a one, dont even bother going for it, its not worth it and you might hit a voltorb.

Doesn't the trading experience bonus affect your EVs negatively and make your pokemon weaker as a result? I dunno, that's just the word on the street >_>

I don't think it actually negatively affects the EVs, just that you won't get as many EVs for each level because you grow faster.

Its still not hard to max out EV's if you're level isn't too high, Esp if you care enough about EV's to wear training stuff.

iron, zinc, calcium. Why not use those?

They're limited too 100 arn't they. But yeah, they work unless you are really pushing 1 or 2 stats.
