I am playing Hojo on turn 295 and just had new policies available. When I click the icon nothing happens. I kept playing until I researched a new government type (turn 300), but still can't access the screen. Now I can't progress the game, because I need to get to the government/policies screen.
Anyone else have this problem?

Are you running any mods? I loaded a pre-patch game earlier today after the patch, and also couldn't open the government screen. I suspect it's the CQUI mod. If so, you'll have to hope it works once the mod is updated.

I guess we found that one guy, who was living under that one rock the past 3 months. :mischief:

That may be the case but he's just as screwed from using mods as are those of us who have been following every twitch and jerk from Firaxis through a microscope for months.

Yes, not everyone has the time like me to read every last tick on a way too long thread, and then *poof* when I opened steam I couldn't stop the download if I wanted to. Had I not been aware to look for it (like most customers who don't post on Civ message boards every day) I'd have *no idea* about the patch, only that my game was suddenly broken.

Not a single notification. It just shoves it down your throat with no choice. I'm sure there's a setting somewhere, but it would have been nice to finish my save game. And until CQUI is fixed, I'm not playing this game. I'm just not.

Back to Fall from Heaven I go....

It was just a joke guys - I hope no one took offense!

Unfortunately, with any "Mod"ified piece of software (not just Civ) many Mods break after a patch. This would be even more likely for something as significant at CQUI.

As part of watching the predictions I haven't played Civ 6 for over a full month (until last night, that is) - just knowing that save games (and Mods) would most likely get corrupted with whatever patch they put out.

I just wish we had the option to not update until the bugs are fixed. That way you can actually *choose* when to update, make your own decisions, instead of the nanny state software companies making all of those decisions for you.

I believe you can do that. You can change the priority update settings for each game on Steam. And if that fails, just make sure Steam doesn't auto-connect on start up and run the game in off-line mode.

Yep, Eagle Pursuit's right - if you want the convenience of auto-updates on Steam, you also get the grief of broken mods on a regular basis.

It's the downside of third-party content. You are beholden to the creators to correct patch compatibility issues in a timely manner.

Yep, CQUI doesn't work with the latest patch. You can either wait for CQUI to be fixed or you can disable it by opening the Main Menu, clicking "Additional Content" and then clicking CQUI to switch it from "Enabled" to "Disabled". Go back to the Main Menu, and click "Exit to Desktop". Then start up Civ 6, click on "Additional Content" again to make sure that CQUI is still disabled, go back to the Main Menu and select "Create New Game". You might need to also disabled other mods as well, but I just run CQUI.
