Oh yes most definitely.Especially since 3 will have no multiplay at first release.I imagine it will be all 3 for a bit.If it sucks..well I still have Civ2.If its good..well...there are still lots of scenarios being made for civ2.I will be playing civ2 in one form another for pretty much the rest of my gaming life I beleive. Many years and many dollars were spent looking for a game like civ2.Now that I finally found it....you need to work hard to get me to forget about it.
i will most probably still play civ2, since my computer isn't good enough to handle civ3, but on my brother's comp!, that's another story, i might be able to get a few games in!!
Definitely play Civ II, despite its known issues.
The computer requirements, and simplicity, will be less than civ III, yet the graphics will be acceptable for decades. The graphics of games like Civ I and Empire (text graphics!) really are almost unusable by current and future yardsticks. Even some arcade games of 20+ years ago still fulfill their nich against newcomers.
So, yes to Civ II. Complex, but not overwhelming. Low machine requirements, and good speed.
I wish they would let me have the Civ II source code to repair the major deficiencies after Civ III is released, as a public service to all, LOL!
Civ 2 has sapped more hours of gameplay than all my other games combined. and i play alot. I just recently dusted civ 2 off and started it up again and boy is it fun. I almos forgot about it.
Rarely, I think. I just don't think it will compare to 3. Stuff that pisses me off while playing 2 will hopefully cease to exist (6 barbarians on a trireme for one.)
I will still play Civ 2 for awhile longer because I have to wait for it to come out in England and also Civ 2 is a great game to play online because the taskbar still shows up so I can still talk to other people etc.
Another thing is that Civ2, unlike CTP2 does not like sporadicallycrashing...This means I have to regularily save the game and if this happens in Civ 3 then I will be annoyed. My comp should be able to handle it but onlyy just.
Nothing better than a game of civ2-well besides that u perverts. Anyways ive played civ2 since it came out-i am a true fan and will never toss it in a dark place after civ3 comes out. Every weekend my friends and i get together on the zone and play a game -its a tradition---and somebody gotta keep it going
