I don't buy it.

I mean, obviously we can see he's right about "Kupe", Eleanor, and Kristina (or, at least, he can assume their identities based on pictures he took...). But I have a feeling he doesn't actually know the full list of leaders.

Pachacuti, Dido, and Suleiman are all still fresh in the Civ series, so I don't see them returning for Civ VI. Especially given that Firaxis has done a great job of not reusing V's leaders (aside from iconic mainstays, of which none of them are... unlike Hannibal).

Admittedly I'm reaching now but apparently the most recent eruption of Vesuvius was on 23rd March 1944... maybe they picked 1939 so that their age would match up!

This might be onto something. The time between the listed both year and the speculated release date is 79 years, 10 months, and 22 days. If we pick Jan 1, 1 AD/CE as a starting point and apply the time difference, it would be late October, 79, which is when Vesuvius erupted
