Poll: Never played Civ before?

I have never played Civ before and I am really looking forward to playing Civ 4. I am curious if there are many other people on this forum that are in a similar position.

I'm a bit of a casual player (Civ 3!) of sorts. By casual I mean start playing -- 12 hours later -- stop playing. I'm sure that's casual play compared to other Civvers.

I do not want to start playing before exams. By the time exams are finished Civ 4 will be out.

I voted casual civ player just because I only have 200 posts and have only logged on about 60 hours with civ 3. I still try to get one game of civ2 in every month though.

It's a civ fanatics forum. There isn't much chance of a significant part of the forum population being new to the game.

Much less of a chance is someone in this forum who hasn't ever played a civ and doesn't intend to.

When I registered to this forum I've never played Civ before but I started playing soon after that.

Civ has been part of my gaming habit since I was 12 or so. Been playing it from the start. Had to acquire a copy through ehm shady means at first because I couldn't get a legal one. (Stores simply didn't carry it yet) Gladly I was able to secure a official copy a bit later. Preordered all Civ's since. Hmmm… guess that makes me hardcore then

Still if you’re new to the franchise you’re in for a treat! Still be wary, once you start playing, its likely to be a part of you for the rest of your life!

Can’t think of a other game that always makes me come back for more. I don’t play it all the time, but after a period without Civ, the urge starts to grow. Soon I find myself unable to ignore the call anymore and have to return to lead a tribe to greatness.

I've been playing since Civilization 1, and have played every incarnation since (including the Call to Power series )

I'm especially looking forward to the new features in Civ 4, and I admit that the waiting is painful.. but it will get here.. and all will be good

From browsing this forum, I do get the distinct impression that once you play Civ, it gets in your blood, so to speak.

Played 'em all and loved 'em all, though I have to admit I was more of a hardcore Civ I and II player than I was with Civ III. I seemed to have had way more time back then.

Actually most of the guys in OT section dont even know/care what the civilization game is Or have never played them.
