I play on archipelago, huge, 15 civs and 0 city states and after a while when me and all the civs have 5+ cities turn times take 15-30 secs to process. Does everybody get this? is this one of those "everybody knows but none talk about it" thing because theres not much about it on the forums.

My late games takes about 1,15 minutes turn time, maybe more. And that makes it a sucky game.
Other than that i love it.

At least i have time to clean my apartment between turns.
Since I bought civ 5 my place has never been cleaner!!!!!!

I only play small maps with few civ's and disabled animations.

It's all smooth even in late eras. I like that :)

I have it all maxed out and it takes me about 10-15 seconds late game.
Maybe I'll go and check it out how much time it takes :P
Guess the new i5 quad i got was a good idea haha :)

I voted 30 seconds but I'm playing on a gigantic-sized map.

Mine takes 30- 1 minute to process whats frustrating is I don't know how to fix it because my system specs go above and beyond the recommended :(

AI workers slow the game down greatly.

My computer is below the minimum specs, but playing in strategic view and on standard or smaller maps keeps the turn time below 5 seconds.

My late game turns are usually around 15 seconds I'd say (sometimes longer if there's a bunch of AI units fighting because then the game cycles around and shows all the conflicts, that's not a processing thing really.) I usually play with 12 Civs (including myself) and 20-24 City States. I upgraded my CPU/RAM/Video Card in late July in anticipation of SC2 and this game, so it's fairly well above system specs.

Anyway, some experiments suggest that workers are the main culprit for time between turns(there's a few threads about how hard-capping the number of workers speeds the game up significantly) so hopefully it's made better. I personally don't have very long load times so it doesn't bother me, but I wouldn't say it's something people haven't been talking about on the forums. It's talked about, just not as much as the AI/Diplomacy/ICS.

10-30 from midgame to endgame. I think I'd actually enjoy playing the game despite all the other flaws if only the wait wasn't so terrible. Similarly, I wouldn't watch the best TV show / movie in the world if every minute or so a commercial played that you couldn't fast-forward.

This needs to be the top priority on the patch list. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like that's the case so far

Late-game on huge maps (especially on higher difficulties), it's a few minutes - my PC is somewhat low spec though (Q6600, GTX 285).

I've even had slow-down in early turns on tiny Deity maps, not sure what's causing that (presumably not workers since there are so few at that point!).

I'm playing a small map right now and on turn 400ish and the times are roughly 10 seconds. As civs go up, so do the turn times. I have an i7 860 @ 3.80 and gtx 275. I also turn windows 7 theme to basic to get some more free ram, and have nothing running but the game and steam(of course :) ).

I do find the wait between turns annoying, not used to this, reminds me of consoles!

However, that part of the game is not unplayable, its the rest of it
