Two-hundred episodes young. PolyCast (PC), the bi-weekly podcast giving the Civilization community an interactive voice on game strategy, is set to record Episode 200 on May 24, 2014 from 12-2PM Eastern Time (North America). For part of the first hour Ed Beach, Dennis Shirk, Barry Caudill and Kevin Schultz from Civ developer Firaxis Games are to be on to help celebrate as well as to field questions about Civilization: Beyond Earth set for release this fall.

Regular co-hosts Daniel "DanQ" Quick, "Makahlua", Philip "TheMeInTeam" Bellew and "MadDjinn" are to be joined throughout the recording by more than twenty past guest co-hosts, including but not limited to Civ modder turned game developer Derek "Kael" Paxton, game journalist Jonah Falcon, Civilization Players League Co-Owner Jon "CanuckSoldier" Ryder and Michael "emeseles" Lucas-Smith with a record eight appearances to date.

To ask questions or otherwise leave feedback for a PolyCast regular co-host, guest co-host, Firaxian or combination thereof, you can do so in advance by responding to this thread, emailing thepolycast@gmail.com or leaving a voicemail: (301) 637-7659 (North America), +44 121 288 7659 (Europe) or via Skype. During the show, you can provide feedback in calling in when prompted or by typing in its chat room. Book your calendar now to be apart of this special event! :cooool:

Is there going to be the possibility of settling outposts/bases/cities at sea in Civilization: Beyond Earth?

Terraforming was both a lot of fun and a clear departure from the traditional Civilization game in Alpha Centauri. What feature, or features, will fill that role in C:BE? Thank you.

"Why did you decide to include Poland as one of the factions?"

Clearly because Poland Can Into Space :D :crazyeye:

And a(nother) question from me: What, if anything, is being done to prevent the "Science >>> Everything" problem that has (arguably) plagued all the Civ games? Will the technology being a web and not a tree help alleviate this problem, and if so, how?

Just three days away: this Saturday, PolyCast will record its 200th episode live. Questions, comments etc. including for Firaxis Games can be asked in this thread prior to recording. :)

To increase the likelihood that your contribution will be selected for inclusion on the show beyond what is noted in the opening post above, have it distinct from posts already made and prompt for more than a "Yes/No" or sentence-or-two answer.

Will a feature akin to Civ 5's Social Policies or Civ 4's Civics be included in the game? If so, which game's system would they be closer to in function?

That's the four virtues: Might, Knowledge, Prosperity and Industry.

How will Beyond Earth engage with ocean tiles, will it be like civ 5 and out side fishing boats and moving units not a whole lot, or will there be a great focus.

Will the quest system also be a part of multiplayer? In what ways will multiplayer differ from singleplayer in general?

Know a special someone in your life who isn't playing the latest Civ yet? Want them to (re-)capture that "one more turn" feeling? You can by winning one of five copies of Civilization V: Complete during tomorrow's recording. Winners will receive a Steam code that they can use themselves or send on as a gift to someone else.

Courtesy CivV developer Firaxis Games, the combined value of these prizes is $250US.

I want to know about the key base concepts like science and infrastructure that cigs can specialise in

Well as it on at 2am my time I won't be able to listen live, but I wish everyone the best and I hope you have a great interview/discussion

Thought I'd be busy during the recording, but looks like I won't be for all of it, so hopefully can tune in for at least part of it.

The best person who summarizes any information that was said by Firaxis on PolyCast Episode 200 about Beyond Earth.:

Beyond Earth will have a tech web divided into three - Supremacy will want to dominate, Harmony will want to integrate and Purity will want to perfect-erate ;)
