Ah, my dear Ducky! Sorry about my most verbose and unique academic style, but one does have a responsibility as a custodian of the Queen's English to relay it properly in written and spoken form. I to regret any contrafibularatories or periconbobulations that may have been induced by I, the veritable allegory of disipation and ruin, in the course of my phrasmotic musings. I am most anaspeptic, nay, even compunctious, that my words may have given me the image of Xanthippe.

Can't you just say "i'm sorry about that" ?
Man if i want to hear such jibberish i'll just torure my English teacher. :D

kan ik me enkel maar onverstaanbaar maken voor Simon DarkShade door in het Nederlands te praten.En natuurlijk ,doordat de naam Simon DarkShade hier meerdere keren vermeld is ,zal hij zichzelf zorgen make om de inhoud van dit stukje tekst.Laten we dus maar eens kijken hoe Simon DarkShade daarop reageert. (vooral als ik er een sarcastish en lachend smily'tje aanhang)

Oddly enough, I've never actually noticed Duck's mistakes in his posts. :crazyeyes

"Can't you just say "i'm sorry about that" ? "

Well, then I'd be lying and being indistinct;)
My point was that I write like that for a reason, and am not really sorry about it, just consistently bemused, as I am with the rest of life:D

Got a translation for that Belgian/Dutch/Esperanto(?;)) that is strewn across the page?

Just a question: If you talk to girl's that way ,do they understand you?? Or do you have to rescale youre word armory five levels down? ;)
I don't think a lot of (beatufull) girls read such jibberished books.

Actually ,it's ancient Greek (Minoan) ,and no ,i won't translate it ;)

I'm not overly concerned with poor spelling. I have a German wife and a dyslexic step mother. Between the two of them (who email me frequently throughout the day) I've become fairly inured to spelling mistakes. My peeve is with poor usage. It's not just on this forum by any means. In any forum, newsgroup, bulletin board or similar venue I've used there are posters with excellent command of the english language who simply do not care enough to use it.

It's generally just pure laziness and it really bothers me.

Cool, never knew I spoke ancient Greek ;)

Btw, off course we non-English speakers make a lot of spelling mistakes, but for all you cockey native English speakers out there:
Try posting something in like.......Dutch, see how many mistakes you make then :p

Probably true, but I was talking about de gezivilliseerde wereld ;)

Lovely to see this thread descend into exchanging banter in various languages:rolleyes:

As for

"Just a question: If you talk to girl's that way ,do they understand you?? Or do you have to rescale youre word armory five levels down?

Well, Ducky, hwy would I want to go round talking to girls for? I might get girl germs ;) I alter my words for no man, woman or beast, and I care not what books your opinion of beautiful girls read, as I am a monk and give no creedence to thoughts of the flesh. I'd much prefer a little intellectual conversation followed by some light torture, a firing squad, and the inevitable path to unbridled power than a few hours of sweat, heaving flesh and panting making the beast with two backs (or rather, one back and a rather strange middle)

Note about spelling / grammar in the Netherlands: every year we've got a spelling contest. It's broadcasted by the public television network, so everyone can participate. It's virtually impossible to make no mistakes in the text, because they use words that no-one has ever heard of. This year I didn't have the oportunity to participate, but two room mates did and they had 53 and 57 mistakes. My father 59. There were three winners, ALL FROM BELGIUM  , and they all had three mistakes. So, dear English reader / writer you see; dee amound ov mistaiks mate in englisj can't bee thad bed compaird too dutch!!

O man I hope I didn't have anything to do with the creation of this thread. As praticaly anyone can testify I'm the only one who could possibly claim worse spelling than Lefty. Mine is a case of laziness so forgive. I just dont have the time to spend 5 hours a day editing my post.

Let's see how well you spell & form sentances on a Dutch/German/Arabic/Spanish forum.

Your thread brings to mind Racial Intoleranance.

Sigh...

For one last time. I DIDN'T MEAN TO BE RACIALLY INTOLERANT OR ANYTHING ELSE when I created this topic... I just wanted to vent a little frustration about the 14 year old boys who populate this board who can't spell or form sentences. Non-americans: THIS THREAD DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU. I would be just as bad if I tried writing in Spanish, or any other language. Jeezus.
