I was trying to doodle around in the modbuddy and xml-files of various kinds in my first ever attempt to do a serious modding.
Can someone more experienced person tell me if it is even possible to have buildings such as wonders built with units instead of hammers? (since I couldn't find the spaceship in the buildings xml I wasn't sure)
Idea would be to create a mod where all wonders are buildable only if you can build necessary units.
For example
Pyramids -> requires six limestone units and one decoration unit, limestones buildable in cities that have marble or stone, decoration in any city that has gold or silver or gems in vicinity.
Great wall -> Requires merely 10 stone units and maybe 10 guardian units (think of them as permanent garrison)
Sistine Chapel -> requires marble units as well as a great artist maybe?
etc. etc.
And I am not talking about the resources now, but units that could be built in cities that have certain resources in their near vicinity.
If this is possible, could someone at least say that it is, and hint to a some direction. If it is not, then I raise my hands and admit my defeat.
Why this kind of a mod? Because world wonders have become too easy to build for a big productive city. They should be rare and mighty things, instead of having all the wonders from stonehenge to united nations in your most productive city.
Oh, and if there's already someone who now got the idea and wants to try and make a version of their own of this. I'll gladly just play it
