Possible bugs - Forest Stealth and carrying birds

Dear Chaps

Stirling work, as ever! I haven't played for some time, and had forgotten just what a feast for the eyes this mod is, above and beyond everything else.

Anyway, a couple of minor issues. I'm not sure if these are known or not, hence I don't want clutter to the bug thread if they are. I had a quick look and the Forest Stealth may well be known (see below), but I didn't see any reference to the bird issues.

1) The Forest Stealth promo appears to have gone (not in the pedia, and not offered after promoting Combat 2 and Woodsman 1). This may well be the "2. invisibility applied by promotion" in the existing to-do list.

2) With a hawk selected, I had the fighter plane recon and rebase icons, rather than the bird icons, and could not rebase to a hunter.

If these are already known about, please feel free to bin this post.

You can use the "search this thread" function in the bug report thread to find out if an issue has already been reported.

Other than that I think it's better to post it there anyways, since now you cluttered the main forum.

2. is reported and maybe even intended (the rebasing thing - you have to load it in a city onto a recon unit now).

Thanks. I couldn't find the bird thing when I looked. The search function always seems to be a rather arcane art when I use it. Must be age or something.

It's not you, so don't feel bad. its simply one of the worst search functions i've ever seen for such a massive site. At the very least, if one giant thread is going to represent every bug found, a "search in thread" function is desperately needed.

i apologize then if its really there, however there is no such option on my screen anywhere, nor have i ever seen one since i've been coming here. I'm guessing then it must be some unneccesarily intrusive, heavy JS thing that i'm disabling. However since i'm getting message formatting buttons, i assumed i'd see it if its here.

i've got a google search on the page that at best will limit itself to all the forums, and has little to nothing in the way of prioritizing, often returning archives in lieu of anything actually helpful. I've got an actual search button, that takes me to an advanced search, where i get to hunt down an individual forum from an enormous list to forums each time i want to search. that again, lacks prioritizing, only a search within results option.

Don't get me wrong, its a good site in almost all other aspects, but especially for this mod, which recieves so much attention from its developers, constantly making changes, it needs better searches.

If rebasing must take place in a city, then some thought my be given to allow birds to also rebase to ships. As is, there's no good way for a Hunter exploring a new continent to get one.
