Here's an update from the game I posted about on Page 9. It's now 1850 AD, and pretty much to the point where I'm assured victory, although some of the AI's- Iroquois, Egypt, India, Russia- are pretty strong. Some stuff has changed a lot (The Americans have been totally destroyed, and the Dutch, Persians, Japanese, Mongols, and Celts are coming pretty damn close), and some hasn't changed much at all. For example, the Koreans have managed to evade destruction despite being very, very weak. Here's the minimap:

What's that dark green nation in eastern Siberia?
How do like the sissy scream that occurs when a 3 man chariot dies?
Okay.That would be Japan.
ZOMG How many cities are there? Have you exhausted the city name list? Here's my empire from one of my ongoing games:

In another couple of turns I'll abandon a lot of the loosely-spaced conquered cities and dump a lot of those settlers and workers to use the space better. At the moment, no more cities can be built, and I kept it like that for a while to stop the AI from building more stuff that I'd have to waste time conquering.
The city name limit is not a problem.
Well, that 'splains it, then. Obviously, I haven't played the Maya enough to know that . . . until now. Thanks, Bartleby. That's a bug with the Maya, Aabra; it always happens.
OMG I've only gotten new 1 a few times. But when that happens I name the cities myself with other cities I know the civ in question did have IRL, but which weren't included in Civ3.That's a bug with the Maya, Aabra; it always happens.
@Zef: there are 512 cities on my map; I can't remember how many times I cycled the city list. I'd say I reached at least on the ...8 or New...8 cycle. Once you start abandoning cities, the new ones you found will take the earliest available name though.
