Post map requests here

Ha ha great. Does it have that stupid ring of mountains around it like the scenario does?

EDIT: It's for Warlords, I need one for Vanilla

All you have to do is change the file name:

You need to uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types' under Windows Explorer -> Tools -> Folder Options. This should then allow to change 'CIVWARLORDSWBSAVE' to 'WorldBuilderSaveFile'

Just make sure you go back and place the check back, then apply.

Greetings

Does anyone have a map focusing on Northern France? I'm a total newb when it comes to designing scenarios, so please bear with me! :D

What I want is a map covering most of France, England, and Germany, plus all of Netherlands and Belgium. This would be for my first crack at putting together a scenario emulating the fall of France in May 1940.

Size: Standard (not huge!) I plan on including only the nations listed above.
Game: either Warlords or Vanilla.
Resources: optional -- I can add them.
Topography: I can add details (I think) such as forests, hills, fortifications, roads/rail, etc (what's important is detail affecting tactical play). Important rivers would be welcome since they affect combat.

I've never done this before, so I got no idea how far I'll get. I plan on using one of the existing mods for the units. The game is intended to be fairly short (an evening play basically) and quite tactical in nature. Techs will need to be blocked as well as city growth. Production could be limited to making units.

As an aftertought -- it would be nice if I could make major rivers only passable via bridges (or through bridging units of some kind). Hmmm... how to destroy a bridge... No idea how to do any of that... Oh well. ::sigh::

Thanks! :D

Take a look at post # 1 and provide the map then we will go from there.;)

OK got it, but am i correct in assuming that you really only want a outline of the area (all grass) and you'd put everything else in?

Yeah, pretty much. If you could place the main rivers as shown on the map, it would help me position everything else accordingly.

I have very little experience dealing with World Builder. It's been frustrating trying to find basic instructions on using WB. Anything like that available on the forums?

Thanks for any help on the map!

OK heres the map, no resources no hills/mountains, rivers are not so good but a few are there, i included somewhat the area where the cities are, hope that what i at least have here is ok, see attached::rolleyes:

Wow, that was pretty fast! Thanks. :)

I'd like a huge New Zealand map at some point...

PLS read post # 1, thx.

Fine then, I'd like to see a huge NZ map, no X/Y axis for Warlords, thus it would be an exceptionally tall, exceptionally thin map. It would be good if you could do somewhat accurate mountains and hills, I could do the resources myself later. Large portions would be covered in forest to represent pre-colonising, no jungles or deserts. Plenty of goodie huts.

hello guys ! i'm pretty new in community and i want to try an earth map
i need a recommendation:
i need a civ4 vanilla map of earth, standard or similar, with civ enabled in americas, barbarian cities & stuff, historically accurate if possible, as many civs as possible
also, if available, i need a suggestion about a map as the one described above, for warlords.
problem is i have only 500 m ram and above standard, in the later stages would become unplayable for my computer. if there are maps that are larges and could be played on a 2.7 ghz,500 ram please tell me.
thanks:thanx:

best thing for you to do for now is look at the download section under Earth maps and pick a really small one for now and go from there.
